Just studying for an upcoming class on the EMB 120....would anyone know what the EEC might be? Thanks, WEFFY

Uhh...SRC? Don't know that one, but I do know EEC. I'll explain a little, but remember they will teach you in class what you need to know.

On the E120, the EEC is a computer that destabilizes the engine operating parameters in all phases of flight...

But seriously, it is intended to electronically trim the amout of fuel that the engine is receiving, and generally make it run better. Cooler temps, faster spool-ups, and less chance of compressor stalls. It does this by commanding the HMU to add (never remove) fuel from the HMU's mechanical fuel schedule. It usually works ok, though the one on the Brasilia is first generation and is subject to its little quirks. It is kinda a pain in the rear compared to the one on the Dash. But, running with them off (inop) is more of a pain so...

It does not provide red-line protection except in an Nh runaway, when it would shut it self off to try to lessen the amount of fuel the engine is getting (remember it adds fuel in all phases of flight.)

There is a lot more too it, but those are the basics. Just learn what they teach you in class.
