Education
Bachelors degree or equivalent, preferrably in an aviation or business field.Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with at least one turbojet type rating. At least 5000 total flight hours with at least 1000 multi engine hours and 500 hours in turbine aircraft.Flight Instructor Certificate with multiengine and instrument ratings and at least 1000 hours instruction given.Current second class medical certificate or higher.Must meet recent experience requirements in FAA Order 8710.3 for designation as pilot examiner.Qualifications
1. Ability to manage a complex flight training operation involving airplanes, simulators, and academic training. 2. Ability to qualify as an FAA designated pilot examiner. 3. Excellent written and oral communication skills. 4. Ability to manage customer expectations and issues in a flight training environment. 5. Ability to implement curricula and standards for technically advanced turbine aircraft. 6. Ability to work effectively with contract organizations and individuals supplying flight training services. 7. Knowledge of and experience withFAA flight training requirements under Part 61 and 142 of the Federal Aviation Regulations.Military experience is a plus but must have five or more years experience with general aviation flight training or corporate flight operations including turbine aircraft training. Must have supervisory expeience in operation of complex flight training operations. Experience with start-up flight training operations, with implementing new training concepts, and with new aircraft technologies is preferred. Secondary Skills:1. Previous experience as an FAA designated pilot examiner. 2. Experience working with FAA personnel on flight training issues.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Manage customer flight training operations in Eclipse 500 aircraft at Eclipse facility in Albuquerque. 2. Selection and supervision of contract flight instructors in Eclipse flight training program. 3. Supervision of Eclipse "mentor" pilots and operation of the mentor program. 4. Coordinate and oversee conduct of customer training at United Airlines Denver training center, under their approved FAA Part 142 program. 5. Conduct type rating practical tests as an FAA designated pilot examiner. 6. Maintain customer flight training records and other required FAA documentation. 7. Collaborate with company customer support to ensure that customer requirements are addressed during training.
