Education
Bachelors degree required, preferably in a scientific, engineering, or other technical field. Advanced degree preferred.Graduate from a recognized aviation safety certificate program a plus.Training or other human factors expertise a plus.Certification as auditor under International Standards for Business Aircraft Operators a plus.Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with multiengine rating and at least one turbojet type rating.5000 hours total flight experience, including 2500 hours pilot in command and 1000 hours turbine experience.Flight Instructor Certificate with multiengine and instrument airplane ratings preferred.Qualifications
1. Ability to develop and implement internal and external flight operations, training, and safety policies, processes, procedures, and programs across company functions in accordance with FAA and other system safety principles. 2. Ability to develop flight operational and maintenance safety programs in collaboration with company, industry, government, customers, and other stakeholders. 3. Superior oral and written communication skills. 4. Ability to analyze safety Secondary Skills:1. Knowledge of state of the art flight deck technologies and their application in a modernized National Airspace System. 2. Knowledge of modern flight training philosophies and methods (single pilot resource management, scenario based training, etc.)data and other variables and parameters from a wide variety of sources to arrive at practical system safety solutions for safety issues related to operation of company products. 5. Knowledge of key FAA regulatory processes and system safety philosophies and oversight methods. 6. Knowledge of human factors issues in flight operations of single pilot turbine aircraft.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Leads company efforts to create and implement a system safety philosophy, operating concept, and supporting infrastructure. 2. Serves as focal point for company internal flight safety program. 3. Collaborates with other company elements to support creation of training programs, flight operations procedures, and other elements that propagate system safety culture and results. 4. Conducts outreach activities to promote company system safety principles among operators of Eclipse products, including fleet customers. 5. Represents the company on select safety and accident investigations. 6. Sponsors and conducts system safety audits of company and customer flight operations as dictated by company and customer requirements.
