Just wondering how good the flight program at is Eastern is and if anyone has attended this school?

I believe that they are currently contracting out the flying to Eagle Aviation out of Willow Run. Havent heard too much about them lately but we get quite a few people from down in that area at our school who werent impressed with the way things were run down there.

dweb,

I attended the aviation program at WMU. Great school, lots of good resources, and a good campus life as well. If you can, you may want to investigate them.

i also went to western. i did the aviation management program. great campus and programs. i did my flying elsewhere so i can't really comment on that. i do know they have some new deans there who are really whipping things into shape. definatley check them out.

Thank you all for your input

I was just looking at Eastern because it would be a little cheaper

Spent 2 yrs at ERAU, 2 yrs at WMU. Got my Aviation Science degree at WMU.
Now I work at the flight school at EMU. So far all positives. They have a strick program. 7 of us CFI's there. 4 of us have ERAU backgrounds. This is my 2nd week working there. If you have any questions, stop on in and talk to me. I would be more than willing to talk with you, let you know about the program. The Chief CFI is a great guy. He spent time at ERAU and Northwest.

Any questions, PM me.

EMU Flight Program

I am a member of EMU's Aviation Advisory Committee, so I do have some insight into their program. EMU has an Aviation Technology Program that is growing. They contract services through Eagle Flight, but Eagle teaches EMU's academic program. They are only in their second year, but they have I believe 57 students in the program right now. The program has a very detailed, structured flight program designed to get the student in a military/airline-training mind set. It offers rating up through MEL CFI.

not sure but i believe western is no longer doing that. i think they start their ppl in their freshman or sophomore year now. i know that's what was planned. not sure if the school has implemented that yet or not.
