Hey guys, I have a class date of Feb 9th with Trans States (got that first) and a conditional job offer for Eagle to start either Feb 2nd or 16th. There a lot quite a few pros to both and a few cons to both. Pay seems roughly equal first year. And upgrade time at TSA is half that of Eagle. I REALLY want to try and commute and living here in Las Vegas, St. Louis kinda seems like the easiest bet. I abosolutely do not want to be based in San Juan if I take Eagle. Any thoughts, advice or suggestions would be really appreciated:D . Thanks.

P.S. I also have an interview on the 3rd with AWAC which is my #1 choice to go to, but I'm trying to prepare now for what I know I have...thanks again  .

I don't know how Eagle assigns seniority, but if you have a good soc security number (last 4 digits---lower 1st number the better) or are older than most(?/), you might be able to bid the Saab in LA, or the ERJ in LA, or the CRJ70 in ORD---which could be commuteable from LAS. Transtates could have a faster upgrade. Do you know which aircraft type each is offering? and, if you want AWAC, then cancel the Eagle class, plan to go to the Transtates class if you get turned down by AWAC.

Bye Bye--General Lee;)

TSA goes by last four digits of you SSN...(mine starts 96--SH!T!!!) and Eagle uses age...I'm 28 so that would probably be middle of the pack. TSA is either the J41 or the ERJ 145 and Eagle it could be any of 'em...although they said the next 3-4 classes would be about 50% ATR in SJU...which SUCKS. Anyway, thanks for the thoughts guys.

I would take Eagle, you could get LAX in a short time, talk about easy commute for you out of LAS then eh?

I don't have any 121 experience but from what I have attained so far, PIC 121 is what we all need to advance to the peak in our chosen career. Whichever offers the fastest upgrade should be your first choice.

By the way, why don't you interview with Air Whisky on the 3rd, accept TSA for the 9th and Eagle for the 16th. You would still be buying yourself a few hours if not a few days.

Good luck.
;)

Ask Eagle for a class extension and go see what TSA has to offer... After the first week or so you are having second thoughts then bail out. It's been done many times before.

Good luck with your decision but it's your own.

I also lived in Vegas when hired at Eagle. I got LAX Saab. Easy commute. I dont think that there will be more then a handfull going to SJU. the bussy season is almost over down in the islands. But with all the movement at Eagle right now you could get LAX fast in the EMB. I overnighted in RIC and had a few TSA crews going from there crash pad to the airport at 5 AM and they were complaining about the crapy early starts and late off lines. ( very hard to commute) Eagle has realy good lines as far as commuting goes.
