So they are planning to use Eagle to strong arm the APA in talks. No surprise there.
After the furloughs and retirements from AA this fall, I wonder what AMR is going to do about the declining number of AA pilots triggering the commuter clause in the APA contract.
That could stop all outsourced flying for AA and effectively kill AE. My guess is that they will furlough right up to that number, then stop. What remains an unknown and what's driving them crazy is the number of early retirements coming up.
Given the number of 37 and 50 seat RJs, AMR knows that AE is basically worthless, hence the withdraw from the used airline market.
