Hello Everyone,
I am a new user here and just want to get some info from everyone here. I really do not want to start a PFT war or anything like that. Let me begin by explaining my situation. I am a CIME(SE) pilot and also am a CFII. I am at 350 hours right now. Working as a flight instructor is very difficult especially with a family and a mortgage, and car payments...I am already working two jobs...well I am sure you all understand. I am trying to chug it out but it has become very difficult and I am looking for a faster approach in reaching an airline position. My ultimate goal is the corporate/fractional market. I have been looking around and have noticed a company called Eagle Jet which sells blocks of flight time and I believe they put you in the right seat at Ameriflight. Is this a good idea for someone like me? Should I just purchase the 500 hours in a Beech 1900 or the 1250 hours in a Navajo? I am really stressed out about not flying enough and not being able to provide for my family...please help guys. Looking for some info and guideance. Below is the link for Eagle Jet in case you do not know what it is.

Thank you all....

Sometimes you have to give a little to get a little. I am not sure you are going to find much compassion or sympathy here since a large majority of folks have been in your shoes. The guy who operates this Eagle Scam is a crook with a proven track record. Anyone who gives him a single penny should have their head examined. If your goal is the corporate/fractional part of the industry then the 500 hours of Navajo or 1900 time will be worthless to you when you look at the larger picture. 350 hours + 500 hours= 850 hours and I am not aware of many operators in the fracs and corporate aviation departments who would hire someone at 850 hours total time. The guy who owns this company should be shot and deported for what he has done in the past and for what he is currently doing.

Just for sh!ts and giggles, give him and call and speak to him, that should be enough in itself to make you stay far away.

Be smart and save your money,

Does your wife have a job? If not, find something she can do from home if you've got young kids not in school yet (e.g. Ebay).

Any PFT program at this point won't really help. Just keep instructing and very shortly, you should be eligible to send your resume into ExpressJet, Island Air, Skywest, etc.

You're in Arizona so you are probably able to log a good amount of flight time without any major interruptions with th weather. If you aren't, considering moving to anonther flight school that is busier.

I agree with the idea of trying to apply to instruct at a busier flight school. Having prior dual given should help you out. Look for a school who has instructors moving on, great way to help get a resume walked in if you have worked with someone who has moved on.
I was reading about Eagle Jet with a search on here and multiple times it was said that these "SIC's" were bumped for freight. You may get 500 hours there, but it would likely take over 6 months. So what then? You end up with 850-900 hours and no job, still not qualified for 135 minimums, and barely meeting most regional minimums. You will then be looking for a job, no income and just shelled out thousands of dollars for 500 hours. Will this really help you? It is better to have a job and look, rather than look without a job, and losing proficiency.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I pretty much figured and agree with you all on this issue. I will be looking for a better CFI position. Thanks for all of the input. I did call the character at Eagle Jet and he did seem like a used car salesman. I was not impressed. Thanks again.

I too checked out that Eagle Jet program. Most of these PFT programs really come in handy if you're a non-U.S. national trying to go back to your home country and get a job.

So if you want to work for Egypt Air, I suppose an Egyptian citizen should come to the U.S., get all the ratings, then do a 737 PFT program with Eagle Jet and go home and get a job.

In the U.S., there is no reason to cough up that kind of cash for PFT programs b/c it won't get you there any faster.

hmmmmmmmmmmm....................
Actually, it isn't as easy nor should one expect to buy X amount of hours with Eagle to get a first officer position at Egypt Air, in a perfect world this may be a reality but most realize this likely will not happen. The majority of pilots come out of the ranks of the Egyptian Air Force as is the case with most other international carriers in the middle east. PIA, EL AL, are just a few others that quickly come to mind. If you ever have a chance spend a few hours in the international terminals of the larger airports and speak to a few pilots from these carriers, you may be a "tad" surprised with regard to "how" they got to where they are present day. Eagle is one place that I would surely steer clear from at all costs possible if it were I. I can't see many "advantages" to buying into such a program unless you just have an excess amount of money that you want to p!ss away.

A fellow co-worker who I had worked with at Delta Airlines who was from Pakistan thought he would have it made if he went this route to secure a position with his home country airline PIA upon completion of one of these "seat renting gigs", he quickly learned a very expensive and costly lesson.
