a good friend of mine interviewed on thurs the 22nd, did the medical on fri the 23rd, and started ground school on mon the 26th for a DFW saab slot...sounds like they need people asap
Not meaning to sound like a smart@ss, but if somebody gets hired on at Eagle in the next year or two, do they have a realistic chance of upgrading this side of 2010? Seems like one of the biggest beefs Eagle pilots have is the long upgrade time. One would think if you guys were short-handed that lots of new-hires would help bring that time down. But I could be wrong...
Congrats to everybody with a class date, and good luck to those with an interview!
Hard to predict AE upgrade time---they are talking about explosive growth, but we have yet to see it. 43 new jets this year and the prop retirements are minimal, so it will be a net gain of some airframes......who knows. Right now the junior Jet CA has 6 years and 9 months with AE (hired 4/97) and the junior prop guy is under 5 years...not the greatest but it should come down sooner or later.
Wingnutt, just to let you now I think your friend is either gravely mistaken or he is yanking your chain. Their was no class on the 26th. A Jan. 19th is running and their is a Feb. 2nd scheduled. They are running them every other monday. Also, you are not awarded a aircraft or base until the first day of class. Therefore he would not know he was starting class for the DFW Saab, unless he as a recall, but in that case he would not have interviewed. Just saw that post and it made me curious, take it easy eveyone.
Upgrade time should come down. The next 4 months should give you a good idea what they will be at the next few years. we have firm orders for 80 more jets and 25 options that im sure they will take. last bid jet CA went to about 1180 and Prop CA went to 1480. with 200+ upgrades in the jet and the prop it should get to around 1800+ for prop by the end of the year as some will wait tell jet CA. My best guess is if hired today and the company acualy grow as they are saying it would be about 3 years for prop and 5-6 for jet.
