Eagle, Comair and Scenic are the three choices I presently have.
I could stay where I am currently living and drive to work for either Eagle or Comair. I'd obviously have to move to Vegas for Scenic.

Advice appreciated.

Eagle is pretty much your best bet..

comair is pretty much a crap shoot. no one knows whats gonna be happening with them

scenic.... ehhhh not as good as eagle...

Eagle seems pretty stable, i have not heard anything about AA pulling any flying from them.

I work for Comair, in my situation its a good fit for me...but who knows if I will have a job in a few month. It all depends what Delta does with us. I think we will end up being sold, which may or may not be good. The company that buys us will most likely get a deal with Delta for flying for x number of years or something. But it will come down to that company's plan as to whether they keep us intact or break it up. Only time will tell here.

I have no info on senic

Basically go where you think it will be the best fit for you. Who cares what you are flying...look at pay, days off, work rules ect. Thats what really important. Id fly a damn 172 if they paid me enough to do it.

Scenic is a good choice, you can move onto SkyWest at some point after your training contract expires.

Shouldn't this thread be titled

"Shoot Me, Hang Me, or Cut Off my nuts and Let me Bleed to Death?"

Seriously, there are so many good jobs in Health Care, Computer Sciences, Insurance, Banking Services that anyone smart enough to get type rated would be in the top 20% of any of these professions with no check rides, medicals, furloughs, bankruptcies, scope battles, lousy schedules....

Instead of saving for your own retirement, you could be at an employer (or in airline management who kept theirs') enjoying the weekends with your family on the boat you bought instead of sticking 25% of your earnings into a 401K.

Really - the best job advice is to not get involved in this mess.

The man's motto is "Go Ugly Early." Everyone makes their own choices.

I regret the career choice I made & would now not advise a friend to consider going into aviation - but hey - if you like it, good for you.

I love the choice that I made, if you dont like it, get out. But most people do know what they are getting into.

Sorry you feel that way. I've worked in an office, I'd prefer to fly. I know what I'm getting myself into.

Don't read too much into the name. If refers to a bar where I've spent many hours.

Work for Mesa.

Uhm. No.
