SHEBOYGAN - The third incident in nearly a week of close encounters of the aluminum kind, a Piper 210 nearly clipped a fully loaded passenger Airbus SEVENTY-FOUR over an area about 10 miles East of the downtown district in Sheboygan.

The Quantum Airlines passenger plane, which had originated in Melbourne, Australasia had made an intermediate stop in Los Angeles before heading to it's destination at Oshkosh where it eventually landed safely according to people there. The private plane which was operated by 77 year old Tuck Higinbotham of Peotone, Illinois also landed in Oshkosh.

Witnesses say the saw the herculean passenger jetliner descend nearly right on top of the private plane. Joesph Abernathy noted, "they were about three to six thousand feet up there," and, "nearly had a collision, they were probably going close to 300 miles per hour" Another Sheboygan resident, Mary Murphy was worried that shards of glass would rain down onto her front lawn, and for the welfare of her pair of dairy cows, Minnie, and Stella.

Local air controllers were unaware of the incident, but did acknowledge a Quantum passenger jetliner did arrive at Oshkosh today. Representatives at Quantum Airways were unavailable for comment this morning, and the phone went unanswered at the Tuck Higibotham residence in Peotone, Illinois.

What's a Piper 210?

I know Tuck, glad he made it. Although his Grandson paid for his training, wears too much hair gel and wears his I-Pod while taxiing his 'nine' at Mesa.

And what the heck is an Airbus seventy-four??

Didn't know there was a Quantum airways, think they really meant Qantas?
