Does anyone know the duty regs for a Flag Carrier and what the difference is between that and a "regular airline." The airline I want to apply for is a Flag Carrier, and I'm curious how that is relevant.
Flag carrier is just another name for operating under international rules. ASA publishes a FAR Part 121 reg book that has 121 domestic/flag/supplemental rules. I think it also has Part 119 & 125 also. Good luck on getting on with a "flag carrier" nowadays as most of them have guys on furlough right now.

go to www.alpa.org There is an excellent duty and rest manual in pdf format the explains the nuances between 121 domestic and flag and supplemental carriers. I have worked for both. The flag supplemental rules are far less kind to pilots.
Take a look at 121.181,183,185 and 187. I would scan it for you but not at home for another 10 days. Look at page 84 and 85 in the 121 regs. (I think the right on the pages). Take a look at 2,3 or augmented crew. Good luck, some like long haul and others can not stand it.
