Thought the wife would love not having to cook so for Christmas I got her gift certificates to the top 10 BBQ joints in town. Seemed like a good idea at the time.
What was I thinking!!!!

Okay, I didn't really do that but I had thought about it. Just wondering if anyone had a really unusual (good or bad) experience in the gift giving department this year. It could be good for a few laughs.

This my friends, is what known as "self-gifting" under the guise of Christmas :)

That's almost as bad as the time I bought my wife new car mats. Forgive me folks ... I was much younger then, and dumber :(

Memphis is the only place in the world with 10 decent BBQ joints, and I'd stick to the top 2 or 3 anyway. Sounds like a waste of money to me.

;)

I've stumbled upon the secret to wife gift giving. My FO is a woman. When I mentioned that I was going to get my wife an amoire, she said "You might as well get a couch instead, 'cause you're going to be sleeping on it."

A couple of hours later I was following her around Tiffany's and Victorias Secret, handing cash to anyone who spoke to me wearing a name tag....

Needless to say, my wife keeps saying that this was the "best Christmas ever." Hey, I might even get to have sex again this year...

So take a woman shopping for a woman. It is relatively painless.

I didn't do this(really). A guy I used to fly with got his wife a toaster, and it had some type of bun warmer on it. It was cool, for a toaster. He slept outside for a few days after Christmas. We still laugh about it!
