The FAA has hired so many people in the last couple of years, and changed from the " kinder, gentler" FAA, to an enforcement agency, that the percentage of tools working there has had to increase. Thanks Babbitt.

I don't know about anyone else, but the number of "route inspections" or whatever they're called seems to have increased.

Amazing when you see the SAME fed taking the jumpeat in a specific city pair on Mondays and Fridays.

yeah - funny how every Friday evening JAX flight has to be checked when winter rolls into the northeast.

There was an inspector at my airline trying to check everyday on our flights between PHL-IAD. Our boss called BS and the inspectors boss put an end to frequent "Check ride".
 
A recent FAA funding bill appears to reinstate the BARR program. DOT is "evaluating" the legislation.
