I posted a thread quite a while ago seeking info on 747 Classic systems to download. I am shocked that I didn't receive a single reply from the 90 hits. Does this mean no one reading this great site flys the Whale ? I have searched high and low and can't find a thing. Even the Boeing site gives only a brief description of general specs. Well, I'll try this... How about hydraulics only. Pictures, schematic's or description of any kind. Thanx all and "The best of the season to everyone and Have a safe and Merry Christmas !!:D

Thanx Mike but I've been on the PPrune with the same thread for a long time (two hundred + reads) and still no luck. I can find lots on the 727/737 but nothing on the 747. It's like it's top secret sh#t or something. I guess that I'll probably have to break down and pay the big bucks someday for the software. Nothings free anymore.

You should try and find the book "Handling the Big Jets" by D.P. Davies I think it is. He's a Brit who was a test pilot for somebody over there. It has some nice pull out schematics on the 747 hydraulics and flight controls and such.
I had a Cathay Pacific guy recommend it to me when I was interested in working there (several years ago before the ban).
They quickly told me my puny Cat III Dash-8 time was of no use to them, and as such I have no use for the book. I found mine on amazon or ebay, I can't remember which. I'll sell you mine if I can find it.

Hello,
I'd recommend taking a look on E-Bay. I found a World Airways 747-273C Systems guide for less than $50.00. It's the real deal and it takes to Jepp bindersto hold it. Absolutely fantastic find. This stuff doesn't come up all the time, so I'd suggest setting up your account in a manner that it will "auto" notify you when items of interest to you come up for bid.
Another product I'd recommend can be found here:

Singlecoil... Thanks alot for the offer of the book, but are you sure you dont want to keep it ? I still have my old DC-8 manuals and can't seem to part with them.If you absolutly sure, please advise and I'll send you an address. ... Kaman... Thank you and I looked at that site and its great stuff. I have FS2002 but the info I was able to download will be of great help! Untill I'm sure that I have the job I'm not in the position to purchase stuff from E-Bay.I do have a line on training Video's and CD's from another source but it's a little pricey for me at this time.I've been furloughed twice since May 2000 so its a little tight now, if you know what I mean. Thanks again guys. :D

I have an excellent book from Canova Aviation Publications that has a very thorough systems and procedures review. I used it when I was flying the 747-200 a few years ago. I also have pilot's panel and flight engineer diagrams with annotations all over them from when I was studying for the type rating oral.

What company are you hoping to work for? Drop me a PM and send me an email address.
