Anybody know who is operating the Dornier 328Jet 328WW? I did a search and I saw the company is located in Ohio. I saw this aircraft at IAD wednesday, twice at IAD friday, and today (Saturday 9/18) in RDU, at Piedmont Hawthorne both places.

Just curious if they are operating a shuttle or something, its not everyday you see a corporate Dorkjet.

Last I knew Johnson Controls was operating a few of them, they hit YIP, BIV and a bunch of places out east......dont know if thats them though.

What you been up to? No more LAF?

Dorko

Phillip Morris used to have a shuttle in a 328 between RIC/TEB. I'm thinking I just saw it the other day in TEB?

I'm still in LAF until at least May, living the dream (I think) and keeping busy between flying and classes. Life is pretty good right now, but I figure the earlier I start looking for work, the less stressed I'll be in the spring. I've got a few leads here and there, and a BE40 SIC job would be real nice, but I figure I've got at least another 500-1000 hours to go before I'm competitive. Until then, I'm happy to instruct, network and figure out exactly what options I have and want to pursue.

I've been chasing this Dorkjet around all week on the east coast on jet trips and I figured I'd see what its story was. Beechjets are a dime a dozen but Dorniers outside of airline service seem fairly rare...

DoJets

You are probably seeing the DoJets operated by Ultimate Jet Charter out of CAK. I think they have 3 of them right now, and from what I understood they were flying a lot of college sports teams around in them. There used to be a guy who worked there on this board who might have more insightful info, but I'm not too sure where he is now. Oh and if you want to see a bunch of dork Props just overfly CAK and you can see all of the PSA birds going home to Dornier/Avcraft.

Last time I saw that plane at IAD they were loading pax from AOL. I don't know if it belongs to AOL. It may be a charter. But they announced over the PA in the lobby that the AOL plane was now loading.

Well Boil, keep up the networking, an old flight team buddy got me in on an Ultra about 7 mos ago, and I bet I had less time then, than you do now.

Philip Morris

I have seen the Philip Morris Dornier at MMU several times -- N328PM. First time I saw it, it was a strage looking plane. I asked my NJA pilot and he told me about the Dorniers. I have seen it there probably a dozen times, if not more. Kraft has a big plant/operation in East Hanover about 5 minutes away.

Fly safe.

I don't know the actual name of the company, but they do operate 328WW and 328GT as a charter service for AOL. The company is based out of CAK, so the previous poster is probably correct with the name. One aircraft is on shuttle service for AOL during the week, flying two roundtrips per day between IAD and TEB. ACA used to operate the charter with their own aircraft out of their own hangar at IAD, but those days became history with the advent of Indy Air. Only one a/c is on AOL duty at a time, and any weekend trips have nothing to do with AOL.

I saw one in Hickory, NC last week. I think the tail number was N328CG. Anyone know who that one belongs to?
