To some captains: If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all. If the company needs a mechanic to go on a road trip at the last second, don't get pissed. Take a deep breath. The mechanics will get to the plane as soon as they have the parts and the tools they need. There is no need to come back to row 9 and "scold" them for being late in front of the passengers. Talk to them after you land (away from the pax) or call MX control or thier supervisor to find out the whole story before you go spouting off about things out of everyones control. If the mechanics are late to the flight there is usually a good reason. I'll let you do your job if you let us do ours.

Beaning that guy on the forehead with an adjustible crescent wrench would be about the only safe application of stricking two hardened tools together that I can think of.
