Okay I'm not one to talk trash, but this is a special case. There is a 121 frieght company flying convair 240s, and 580s. I'm here to tell you not to work for this company! Its not management, or employees, but a matter of safety. I personally can account for about 10 different serious violations. I have a friend that was fired for refusing to jump seat for buisness purposes. Anyways I want to hear if anyone else has any scary stories to tell? If anyone wants details on the company let me know, and I would be glad to fill you in. IF anyone is thinking about working for this company, think twice. Anyone who hires you over the phone is no one you want to work for.

I sent a resume into them several weeks ago from an ad they were running for pilots. I have substantial turboprop (heavy) time and before I get too involved with them I am very interested in obtaining your views. I don;t know too much about them.

You can PM me if you want.

Thanx

Are these the guys that have a 580 parked on the UPS ramp at Pittsburgh? I do admit it would be cool to fly a museum piece like that, but I am interested in hearing what these "10 serious violations" were all about.

If you go to work for them I would plan on living in your base. I know they are banned from our JS at ASA, and I would guess they are banned everywhere else.

They were banned for JS Fraud, ie moving employees on jumpseats for business purposes rather than buying them a seat.

That's all I know about them.

It's nice to see that the word is getting out about that place!

Ever heard the expression "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"?

Well, I'm not saying anything.;)

Wang over and out.

It's not what you fly necessarily, but WHO you fly for....

Flying DC-3's or Convairs can be cool....for about a week....

Yea these guys are a true work of art. Been there done that and gald to be alive. It would be safer to just jump out of the airplane (with no shoot) over the FAF on an ILS down to mins than shoot the approach with most of their pilots.
To any pilot that goes just don't get mad when we tell you "we told you so", they lost all priviledges to jumpseat, I spent many a nights stuck overnite b/c no hotel would be given to me while I attempted to jumpseat for business to reposition. I looked like a homeless man most nights who managed to scrounge up an old pilots uniform.
Violations are a norm and I woiuld'nt want any part of them.

Wow, I don't think I have ever heard a company so well-trashed!

I'd love to hear some details....

Aw, c'mon hyper. We all know that it must have been a blast last year spending your Thanksgiving weekend in the terminal begging for a ride because they wouldn't buy a ticket!

It was also pretty cool when they kept changing your "base" each week!

Nope, don't miss that stuff one bit! On to bigger and better things...

I will say flying the convair 240 was a bundle of fun. That joy of flying was quickly extinguished by my struggle for survival and my dream of dying an old pilot. The old saying " If you can't beat em' join em". I'd rather take my beating. Most would agree with me we could right a book, maybe a 20/20 special?!
