Hey guys,

I need some info on current hiring contracts at regional airlines. I've done a search and not come up with what I'm looking for. If you would take a minute to reply, I would greatly appreciate it. Be sure to include your airline name, whether or not there is a contract and if so for how much and how long. Also, if you happen to know if its pro-rated from day one or just a set fee, that would help as well.
 
Colgan Air = 1 year training contract (11,000 approx pro-rated)

Express Jet = no training contract

Air Wisconsin = no training contract but requires you to write letter of resignation to prior employeer.

Air Net Express = training contract (9,000 aprox pro-rated)

Mesaba = 1 - year $21,000 training contract pro-rated (I think you already know this)

Chaniqua= two year contract (not sure how much)

Horizon = two year contract (not sure how much)

Great Lakes = $8,000? one year training contract

GulfStream = (off the street captain) no training contract


All I know, just went through the furlough at Mesaba and did the research
 
I believe chataqua's contract is 15,000. Dont know if its pro-rated or not.

Pinnacle= no training contract

Skywest= no training contract

Island Air= no training contract

* I didnt think any ALPA carriers had training contracts? Someone told me they didnt believe in them.
 
Horizon 3 year contract (jet)= $8,000 prorated, and does not apply if you are hired at Alaska with in 3 years. Which will probably never happen.

Don't know about the dash.

Doesn't really matter if they have a training contract or not. They won't hold up in court since training is required under federal law.

200 and 400: $5,500/2-year, pro-rated.

Really? another slap in the face.... :(

See my other thread regarding "just bit the bullet and paid it" from tonight.

Back in '03 they served my ex-wife (recently seperated at the time) in Jersey with the court date. I never got it since she is a *%$&, so they got default judgement. My lawyer in Jersey said it would be very costly to overturn, so he threatened them with my bankrupcy and got a settlement of 4K off of a 12K judgement...

This business pi$$es me off sometimes

The companies have you sign a legal contract....they can collect on it....many companies have gone to court and they win....think what you want...but it does happen...not only in this industry either.
 
ASA doesn't have one either.

We have plenty of pilots that finish training and leave 6 months later. I actually think management prefers it that way.

I beg to differ. I had a buddy leave Frontier to go to Delta. He walked on the contract and they ended up garnishing his wages.
But I still agree, training contracts are BS
