Just curious,

I know at most majors this is commonplace. Does NJA provide Long term disability/loss of license insurance?

Thanks.

Yes, we have short-term and long-term disability, and a separate loss-of-medical plan in case the LTD doesn't cover something. Here are some excerpts from our benefits page:

STD:

This program provides income protection for you in the event that you are unable to work due to a non-occupational injury or illness. The Disability Salary Continuation program pays 60% of your base salary, for up to 26 weeks (180 days) while you are disabled from performing your job duties due to a non-occupational illness or injury. You are eligible to apply for Long Term Disability (LTD) coverage if your disability is expected to continue past the Elimination Period of 180 days.

LTD:

You will be automatically enrolled in Long Term Disability coverage as a new hire.

This is a Company-provided benefit and is provided at no cost to you. You will not see a deduction in your paycheck
The NetJets LTD Plan provides income protection for you if you are unable to work for an extended period of time due to a non-occupational injury or illness. If you become disabled and are unable to work for 180 consecutive days and have filed a valid claim for benefits that has been approved subject to the terms and conditions of the Plan, beginning on the 181st day, the LTD Plan provides coverage at 60% of your base salary up to a maximum monthly benefit of $5,000. The length of time you may receive the benefit varies based on the age you are at the time you are disabled.

Loss of medical:

This Company provided Flight Crewmember Loss of Aviation Medical Certificate Disability Plan provides financial protection for you by paying a portion of your income should you be declined a benefit from our Group LTD Plan. The amount you may receive is based on the amount you earned before your disability began. The monthly benefit under this plan is 60% of monthly earnings to a maximum of $5,000 per month. The maximum benefit period is two (2) years.

You can not even begin to compare the bennies between any major and NJ. NJ blows any major out of the water... Even with airline non rev passes you cant touch NJ bennies..
