Has Mesa gotten any financing yet? I keep hearing that they do not have the financing for planes, but they are hiring? Is there any truth to that? Or is JO going to trade one of his 15 motorbikes for a CRJ? Or perhaps he can attach a side cart and personally move the passengers DEN to STL.

He has no cabbage, man. Nada.

His solution is to attempt a hostile takeover of ACA, offering -- not cash (of which he has none) -- but stock in Mesa. This is because he cannot find financing for new aircraft because no leasing company will give him the money to pay for aircraft. (His profit margins will be so thin under the United deal the lending community is somewhat skeptical of his ability to make good.)

If he is successful in acquiring ACA he will get the 87 CRJ's he so desperately needs (and a pat on the head from his new masters at UAL) but 4500 disgruntled employees who have no desire to work for him and will grind the operation to a halt.

Business as usual in the airline industry. It's been, let's see, about 20 years since the last Lorenzo?
