135 IFR instrument time requirements? The Frasca time was given by a CFII at FlightSafety in an 'approved flight training device'. i.e. registered and approved by the administrator

Or, does only hood time and actual instrument count?

Thanks.
Eric

75 hours actual or simulated, 50 hours that was in actual flight. It's in the Regs dude...

So I take your response to mean 25 hours of time in a Frasca can count towards the 75 required to be part 135 IFR PIC?

Does everyone else agree?

Found this,

Sec. 135.243

Pilot in command qualifications.

(c) Except as provided in paragraph (a) of this section, no certificate holder may use a person, nor may any person serve, as pilot in command of an aircraft under IFR unless that person--

(2) Has had at least 1,200 hours of flight time as a pilot, including 500 hours of cross country flight time, 100 hours of night flight time, and 75 hours of actual or simulated instrument time at least 50 hours of which were in actual flight

the way i read that reg, is that you don't need a single minute of actuall time it can all be simulated but 50 hrs, must be under the hood in the airplane. the other 25 can be done in the frasca...my $.02...
