Hello Everyone:

I am a pilot at a Part 91 company looking to help our scheduler get a dispatcher license as the person becomes more operationally involved in ops. The person has a need for a minimal residency type of experience (preferably even some type of on-line course).

Can someone please help with recommendations?

Thanks for the help.

I went to IFOD this spring. It is a 5 week course of tourture but it is pretty good. It runs about $4k and plenty of hotels in the area that run $180 weekly rates. They provide all the books and tests cost. Even got a free beer from Kash the schools owner. But go head and get the ATP book and the FAA avaition weather book and get their heads buried in them.

Got time off from work and went to Institude of Flight Operations & Dispatch. Located in Dallas at the AAL HQ, stayed on campus in about a 4 star hotel for very resonable. In between studying, toured the AAL museum, and got good food at the poolside bar. This is a pretty challenging and thorough course taught by competent industry experts. Used Boeing 737-800 performance data and systems to get license. Also IFOD continously schedules airline interviews for its students and alumni.

Yes definetely. Airline Ground Schools was a great experience for me personally. The instructors were outstanding and I learned so much from them. It was local for me to go there so I did the 13 weekend course which worked out great. I would highly recommend this school to anyone.
