save your money, this country or currency isn't doing anything for a while.two years ago people i was flying with into kuwait were buyin these things like crazy and they still suck.generally currency fluctuates downward much much faster than upward,so don't expect some quick payout.if it was such a good deal the currency traders would drive the price up before the average joe blow knew what happened.

I would still say buy some. But don't invest more than you can afford to lose. It may never hit. But I look at it this way, if I don't buy & it hits, I'll be kicking myself for the rest of my life. If it doesn't, the amount I've invested won't kill me.

Anybody care to add their two pennies on Iraq Dinar????

Pennies??? How about two Fils on Dinar? :)

A while back I remember someone emailed me a copy of Greenspan’s reply to a question he was asked regarding investing in the dinar. I wish I remembered which publication this email came from, but basically he said that comparing Iraqi Dinar to Kuwaiti Dinar (?) was like comparing apples to oranges. He said that while Kuwait as a nation had zero national debt before being invaded by their neighbors, Iraq on the other hand was among the most indebted nations before operation “Iraqi Freedom” mainly due to their colossal military programs (I think at one point Iraq had the 5th largest army in the world? Not sure…)

Anyway, the gist of his response was Don’t do it! – he was interviewed in 2005 I believe. I’ll try to google and see if I can find that reply, it was highly unusual as he seldom talked about “specific” cases…In the meantime I found this…

Trump bought $70 mil worth. He's no dummy. Plus there was a mass of debt forgiveness for Iraq that just happened. The value of the dinar against the dollar is slowly rising. And if you look at any of the Arab countries that are rich in oil the buying power of their currency vs the US dollar is much higher. Try this link: http://www.investorsiraq.com

I bought $300 last year, its now worth $345, better than some stocks. Its all a gamble no matter where you try!

How do you know trump bought 70 million worth.Rich people can also be dumb, have you seen the show?
He may be dumb in some ways, but he's not dumb when it comes to making money.
