Any tips, info or quirks on this plane? I am getting checked out in one next week and will be doing some longer XC's in it this month.

I am a bit hesitant that going through a G1000 checkout and 10-15 hours in the plane will throw off my scan. I have my instrument ride coming up and obviously everything has been flown off steam guages. I don't want to waste any money going back and re-learning things like BAI.

Thanks.

Why not finish up your instrument in the Star and take the ride in it?

Best of both worlds.

I wouldn't worry to much about losing your scan...... it is all the same... I had 100 hours or so ferrying the diamonds and then went to a part 135 flying a baron on steam gauges... it is all the same. good luck! If you do your check ride in the diamond and you are profecient... i guarantee that the examiner has never seen one and it will make your ride a lot easier!

It seems there isn't really a negative transfer. My students seem to keep 2 "sets" of scans in their head. The hardest part is learning the new layout, but you probably won't forget the old.
