DH-6 Operating Cost

Hello all,
I'm looking into a tour/charter biz using otters on floats. Does anyone have any good info on operating cost for a twin otter, wheels and floats, more specifically for use in saltwater. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

You might want to check out the avcanada forums. There may be some Kenn Borek and West Coast Air or Air Tindi folks who may be able to help with that question. Also look at Viking Aircraft, the new producer of the aircraft (if you haven't already).

seaborne down in st croix has been operating them on wip14000 since 1995ish. call down the and ask for one of the head cheeses dave he may be able to help

Basic rule of thumb if it floats multiply maint/ opperating cost by factor of 3. If it works out of saltwater multiply by 4.

Borek is probably your best source of information as they are probably the largest DH-6 operator and/or source of DH6 aircraft. They provide the aircraft and crews for Air Maldives for example.
