I'm a new hire and a regular line holder who had a trip pulled for OE. My question is... If crew sch. has not contacted me with a recovery trip within 12 hours of my original rotation starting time am I off for the days of the trip or am I still obligated to fly a trip if assigned and how much notice do they have to give me?? I am a commuter so any help on this would be appreciated. I read the contract but would still like to get the know on this......

Hey West...

If you are removed, and nothing is assigned within 12 hours.....enjoy your paid days off.

23G5

The Company will attempt to notify the pilot of his removal and any assigned
recovery flying at least 12 hours prior to the report time of his originally scheduled
rotation. If a notification attempt is not made at least 12 hours prior to the scheduled
report of his originally scheduled rotation, the pilot will have no recovery obligation.

Welcome to Delta BTW

Curr Position: Captain
Total Time: 11,000

Didn't know Delta is hiring street Captains.

Yeah, with him being a new hire at Delta I'm amazed and appalled that he didn't make updating his FI profile one of his top priorities in life.

We're not....all newhires are F/os

Throttle back.....Maybe he forgot to change his FI avatar....that would definitely be first on my list if I got hired at the majors....

You are off the hook for the entire trip if u are not assigned recovery flying 12hrs prior to your scheduled sign in time under 23G5. The recovery trip has to sign in on or after your original trip. Not a min earlier. U can now put in a WS or GS and get paid on top of your original trip. SHARSHINK!!!!!!!

I'm sure more than one person has figured out how to bid and get awarded trips that are ripe for OE. And then as Jam-Bro said, put in for whitey and greenies. Cash is king!

Maybe, he was one of the last NWA pilots on furlough that had deferred his recall? He could be considered a new hire and has the seniority to be a lineholder? But, he is certainly not a Captain at Delta.

No I am not a captain at Delta and yes I will be changing my info here at FI. Thanks for the replies, I will enjoy my time off and look into making some cash.....Glad to be at Delta as an FO........................
