Delta guys. I am jump seating to Paris in early August and was screwed last year by "load optimization" what are the parameters that trigger this and is there anything the Captain can do about it? Certain temps?
Are you guys putting people in the actual when full? Is CDG set up?

It means that DAL will take anythings that pay's $$ over non rev or j/s if needed.

I'm pretty sure that protection only applies to delta pilots.

Payload optimization is Delta-speak for weight restricted. DL pilot and F/A's who have reserved their JS ahead of time will not be bumped. All other non-revs, including offline JS'ers are subject to being "optimized" off the flight.

There's not much a captain can do about it.
