Delta delays Comair sale

Delta Air Lines has put on hold plans to sell its Comair regional jet service division while it explores a possible merger with United Airlines or another rival, the latest sign that 2008 could be the year US carriers press for consolidation.
Delta executives said in October they would reach a decision on whether to sell or spin-off Comair within the next several months. The Atlanta-based airline has had preliminary discussions with JPMorgan Chase on its options for the unit. It will not retain the firm until a special committee of Delta directors and their bankers – Merrill Lynch and Greenhill – has completed the merger review, people familiar with the company’s plans said.

They're waiting for Orenstien to get back on his feet.

If Delta and United merge, will ASA get to keep the popcorn machine in the pilot lounge?

I heard that consolidation leads to trimming of assets, and I cringe at the idea of our popper sitting in the desert...

The popcorn machine will be sitting right next to the flat screen. I can see it now: Old DC-9, Old L10-11, popcorn machine, old DC-9, Old 727, flat screen, Old DC-9...

Now, not only have the Upgrades at Comair been pushed back a little bit, differences training for the CR700/900 are being effected because one of our deliveries expected for 2008 isn't going to happen until 2009. Hmmmmmm It's only the first week of January!

Pinnacle has shown interest in Comair. Once merged they're changing the company name to Comacle.

Only is someone else chips in to buy the popcorn. I brought in the 50# bag, and it's almost gone already.
