I heard today that Gulfstream will reportedly be signing a contract tomorrow to do some flying for DELTA with EMB-120s. Anybody here this same rumor.

I thought Gulfstream only had B1900s?, and anyway Max is right, they are getting the RFP planes anyway.

Fess Up!

I have been gone on a 4 day trip. Can't seem to find any releases concerning this. Maybe you guys could point me in the right direction with factual data. Thanks.;)

This could be true---Skywest got extra Brasilias from COEX after it went all jet, and took the IAH E120 flying. (they did offer to hire COEX furloughs though, which was nice) Maybe Gulfstream will buy 5-10 cheap E120s parked in Hot Springs at the moment, and start flying them to Albany, GA, or Valdosta......They could upgrade all of their pft guys. Or, they could be getting all of the 45 RFP jets.....

Bye Bye--General Lee:rolleyes:

I have it on good authority that all 45 Delta RFP a/c, PLUS ALL the retired Brasilias from ASA and Comair are going to be operated by TAB Express.

It's true. TABExpress F/O just got his Captain award. So as soon as he coughs up another $67,000 he is off to Captain school.

I doubt that. Next we will get some Aero Mexico pilots on loan to fly 6 month rotations for Delta's new INTL Airline "El Deltido Internacional"---come on!!

Bye--Bye---Adios!---General Lee:cool:

I just finished recurrent training this week. A rep from management came in and told us that ASA is going to re-start PFT to compete with Gulfstream for any additional RFP aircraft above the 45 that they are getting.

The VP in question told us that, "It just does not make sense for us to pay training costs when there are so many furloughed Delta pilots who are willing to pay $10,000 for an airline job that only pays $15,000 the first year." He said that it is a , "win win for us and the furloughed DAL pilot since any profits that ASA makes are returned to Mother Delta" and that it will, "Help get the furloughed DAL pilots back to work sooner if they buy a job at ASA."

In addition to Metro's accurate info, I also heard that Tab and Gulfstream are joint-purchasing all 14 available DL M11s, filling them with Dual Captain PFTers, and the entire JFK intl operation will go to them. This newly-announced mainline contract carrier will be named "Atled". Supposedly this is an attempt to compete with B6s A388 order to be announced shortly...

Sleepy what VP would that be?

Inquiring minds would like to know.

Maybe Delta could turn a profit on the 14 MD-11s with the Tab Express guys flying them.......Maybe they could even pay Delta to fly them. Maybe "The Guat" can be a Captain on one, unless he thinks it is a 767 by mistake......Hey, he has a 3.94 GPA.

Bye Bye--General Lee;) :D

PS---To "The Guat"---I was jokin man---just relax and enjoy being a pilot.....;)

3.94?

He forgot to tell you that it was 3.94% of the time! GPA is really a little lower. But I am sure he means well.

dam n straight.

That's what gets me with a lot of people on this board. Some people just get too bent out of shape over the most stupid stuff.

We've all done and said stupid things...Drank women cute, said stupid stuff when we thought no one was listening, but dam nit it...s*it happens...take your punches in stride.

Besides, it's all internet bable anyways.

Dave,
Gulfstream FO program grads are getting offers to work there instead of Airlink. They are probably getting Brazillias. Sorry you catch such flack from the bashers, but they are kinda funny. Outsiders can only guess at the quality of training there.

Especially General Lee: Comair pilots are bad...BAD! But ASA pilots are good and their benevolence will be remembered!

No matter how many times he's had that "management thingy" explained to him, he still comes back with the same old mantra; a mouthpiece for the DMEC.

Well here's one for ya: Will the ASA pilots be remembered when the Delta MEC drags us all into bankruptcy and ASA's contract is gutted in court too even though they're profitable?

Oh, and if I forget to mention it, Comair pilots are bad...BAD!
