ATLANTA, March 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL - News) today reported traffic results for the month of February 2003. System traffic for February 2003 decreased 1.1 percent from February 2002 on a capacity decrease of 3.8 percent. Delta's system load factor was 68.6 percent in February 2003, up 1.9 points from the same period last year.
Domestic traffic in February 2003 increased 1.4 percent year over year on a capacity decrease of 2.7 percent. Domestic load factor in February 2003 was 69.0 percent, up 2.8 points from the same period a year ago. International traffic in February 2003 decreased 10.0 percent year over year on an 8.2 percent decrease in capacity. International load factor was 67.3 percent, down 1.3 points from February 2002.

Inclement weather during the month of February adversely affected Delta's operational performance. During February 2003, Delta operated its schedule at a 96.9 percent completion rate, compared to 98.6 percent in February 2002. Delta boarded 7,616,824 passengers during the month of February 2003. Well, it appears we were down in Feb becuase of the harsh Winter weather in the NE. Last year our March traffic was the best we have ever had, and that was after 9-11. I am sure that this March will be slower to a possible war with Iraq. Hopefully it will be over quick ( The Pentagon said their new strategy will be "Shock and Awe"---with more than 3000 missles shot in the 1st two days....) and the economy will rise when fuel prices go down. That's all we can hope for.
