As of today, I have resigned my seniority at RAH. I am moving on to greener pastures where I can get paid more and have a better quality of life. I'm going to a place where I can fly with the best pilots and the best procedures.

I know this may come as a shock to everyone, but with all of the research I've done, I realize that I, as an employee of this company, am personally bringing down the industry.

I just can't take the guilt anymore.

Where may I achieve all that I have dreamed? The only airline that can propel me forward to the twilight of my career. Express Jet. Yeah, that's right. I start class at the beginning of November. So, Superpilot and SkyBitch (I still won't respect you as my Captain. Just because you are higher-ranking doesn't make you superior) I will be swinging your gear. I look forward to raising the collective industry bar with you two.

Uh huh... Good luck with that, man. Congrats! You've finally made it to the big time!

YOU'RE MY BOY BLUE!!! (I just always wanted to say that)

You have finally wised up. It's a shame that people are willing to fly the 170 for $19,000 a year. I do agree that the 170 is a nice plane, but I'll stick to my 145 gig which makes me more money at the end of the day.

Hey man congrats.....ExpressJet is a good place to be, I mean being able to fly almost a four hour segment in a 145XR is kick a$$. My roomate from college made $20,000 take home his first year there, only a couple grand less than we did, so you should be good. I hear Newark is cheap for living too, so you should have some of that "disposable" cash that we all have been dreaming about. Better yet, you could get based in Houston and get to hang out with all the Katrina peeps, yeah buddy!!!

Actually first year pay is more like 23,000. Not like I see much better anywhere else. I don't get all you guys saying well at express jet we make sooo much more money blah blah blah First year regional pay is welfare pay no matter where your at.

I consider CHQ a decent place, especially to be a Capt, but one must admit that the FO pay sucks.

AWAC

year 1: $24
year 2: $35
year 3: $36

CHQ
year 1: $23
year 2: $30
year 3: $35

Now, although they are not too far off (except of course 2nd year pay), you are flying 22 more seats around (soon to be 36) on the US Air side... plus you do not have the rig and such that exists in our contract. Again, Capt pay is not too horrible, but your FO pay does have a ways to go. Hopefully in your next contract you will address that.

While I admit that your posts are a bit condescending and irritating, and perhaps you feel the same about mine, they don't bother me so much that I would take the time to create a whole new thread about it. But hey...whatever works.

Did you forget that I fly a 50 seater and you fly a 70 seater at cheaper rates? Do pilots at the majors fly 777's at 737's rates? As for the 4 hour legs, I actually like them. You fly one leg a day and your done. I also live in Chicago and have the option to apply with CHQ and try to be based at ORD. If I had shiny jet syndrome I'd be applying with CHQ.

Stop assuming things. I don't fly 70 seaters. I fly a 50. All I'm saying there isn't much difference with 50 seat rates in the market. Not enough to matter. We'll all just cheap labor in the end. I do this job because I like it and working in an office sucks.

Well actually no, they do it for a little less.
Also most of the FO's at RAH fly the 135-145, I'm not saying our FO's don't get the shaft, they do, but pilots unions vote to keep this up and we all need to stop. We have collectively decided that “I suffered, so everyone junior to me should too”, thus there is such a disparity between FO and CA pay while first year pay anywhere is just pathetic. BTW do your FO's get paid more for flying the 145 than the 135? It’s the same deal here, just a little more egregious.

Agreed!! Not responding further due to the stupidity of the original post.

:puke:

Hey stupid A$$, did you realize that you fly a 50 seater on a 737's route? Whats the pay difference from your FO pay to CAL's FO pay. You do have SJS, thats why your working for Express and not Colgan.....Tool

BTW BLUE is this a serious post?????????????? I smell flame!

Sounds like I may have touched a nerve with someone. It's ok just pull out your wallett and look at that nice shiny airplane that you have tucked in it and you'll be all better. I did work at Colgan but I valued my life to much and figured it was time to get out of their before it was to late. Planes don't impress me anymore. I lost the SJS 5 years ago when I was 21 flying citations. Anymore questions genius?

I think he was referring to me. I, like most other regionals have been forced to settle for one pay scale for FO's. I don't like it, but that happens to be life. Many many airlines, regionals and majors alike have blended payscales.....narrowbody and such. I dont agree with it, but whats my choice?
I dont have SJS, I fly what I fly.....I dont give two $hit's what it looks like, just pay me.
Earlier, the sarcasm of my post was extreme....but I will say this. CHQ/S5/RW is what it is, it isnt bad, it isnt good. XJet has better works rules than we do, no doubt.
Payscales at the regional level for first year FO's.....not good anywhere.

Couldnt agree with you more! The old Ultra made me look at things completely differently, the world looks the same no matter what the tube you are flying in looks like.

I typed 2 paragraphs then deleted it and just wanted to call

BULLSH!T on this

I'm amused by how many people appear to have initially taken this thread seriously.

I'm amazed at how many people are willing to b!tch that their crappy regional is better then someone else's crappy regional..... Newsflash regionals have crappy pay!

Citations to Colgan.........your right compared to you I AM a genius I would still be flying Citations. Every time I pull out my wallet I see captain pay. There is nothing "shinny" about our 145's.

Don't be so upset that CHQ didn't offer you the position and just enjoy your job without spouting off junior.

Gee, its funny. None of these jack...es ever have a bad thing to say about the airline or the pilots when your sitting the in the jumpseat and we are taking your .ss home.

Congrats, and make sure you are nice, and wave when we taxi by in the CRJ in IAH...BTW, isnt XJT getting rid of the XRs? I honestly don't know. I thought those were some of the ones they are getting rid of?

"It's a shame that people are willing to fly the 170 for $19,000 a year"

It's about $24k first year, and how is that any different than flying a CRJ700 for that wage, if not less?

All regionals suck. CHQ sucks less than others.
