So after an overnight in HPN we get to the airplane he next morning to find it under at least 6 inches of snow. There were obviously quite a few planes being deiced. We aked for and got one of those rubber blades to push the snow off the wings and fuselage. Took like 10 minutes to get everything off the DA50 besides the tail. Meanwhile, other planes were getting hosed down with hundreds of gallons of glycol to get the stuff off. ($$$$$$$$$$) We obvioulsy still got the tail and whatever else we missed hosed off, but my question is this. Why wouldn't the FBO send the line lacky's out there with that snow blade thing and start pushing? We did it ourselves, which was no problem, but the line guys never even offered to help. Just seems like the FBO was more interested in selling the precious glycol then saving anybody any money.
On a side note, if anybody hasn't been to the new FBO in CLT, Wilson I think it is, they are unbelievably awesome. What makes it even better is that Signature gone!
