Hey All,
I am a retired AF guy. I did some AD and then Reserve. I have a really complete DD214 from AD. The DD 214 I have from the reserve is just for a 1 time activation to go to C 17 school for 2 months. My question is: should I have a DD214 that closes out my reserve career? The AD DD214 has all kinds of info on it. The tittle of the document is "Certificate of release or discharge from active duty" It sounds like reserve time would not be on this document. Any retired guys out there with some enlightenment?
Thanks,
SRT

No. There is no DD214 for the reserve. DD214 separates you from active duty only. There is a separation from reserve form, but I can't recall what it is. You should have a discharge certificate from the reserve as well. When looking at reserve time, point summary is usually what most people are concerned with, and there is a form for that as well. Hope this helps some.

I have a DD214 from separating active duty and one that marked the end of my one year Reserve activation. I would just send them both and provide a short note explaining them. Good luck!!! Give me a call if you have any questions.

Thanks Guys,
I just sent off to the vetreans bureau for all my records. I really did not think any of this stuff would be that important.
I will just send them what I have with a letter.
