I live south of the Springfield airport about 20 miles. Several times about 4:00 pm in the afternoon I see a DC-3 fly over heading south. Any Idea who it may be? I figured it's a freighter being a -3 so I posted it here. I saw one, on one engine, headed towards SGF a couple of months ago, but it was camo so I didn't know if it was a freighter, or a show plane of some sort.

There has been one sitting on the ramp there for a couple of months now. That is probably the one you saw single engine. That is also the only one I have seen there. It looks like a CAF bird that maybe lost an engine on the way to an airshow? Anyone confirm?

The DC3 is from Topeka Kansas. They shelled one enroute from Florida. I fly the thing but luckily not on that trip

What are the plans for it? Is it a freighter? Any clue about the one I have seen headed south in the afternoons?

They are waiting for an engine and a oil cooler. It is used for airshows and is configured as a AC47. Don't know about the one ya see flying.....
