A couple of DC-3 questions:

+ Are most of the operators in the Southeast?
+ Is it reasonable to assume people will continue operating DC-3's for the next 4 or 5 years?

I'd love to fly one... and while I stand at the "keep working and fly, quit my job and get my ratings and CFI" juncture, it's one more thing to consider...

(yes, I know that I may never get to fly one -- but at least working towards that goal would be worth the effort)

Cheers,

-Andrew

DC-3

Yes they will fly for a long time to come....where I flew we were able to fly in known icing. Check out there website...www.flymva.com, they have some good pics. It was a lot of fun to fly

Buckeye, thanks for the tip, but could you double-check that link? Even after ommitting the comma at the end I still couldn't get it to work. I'm looking for a DC-3 gig, too.

Check out Opa-Locka, OPF, in Miami Florida. I think it's the DC-3 capital of the world. There are many DC-3 cargo operators here and there is even an operator with DC-6's and one DC-7.

Try Miami Valley Aviation. Phone number is 800--533-2800. Kevin Upstrom is the chief pilot. Best operator in the country.

Genavco in Honolulu (HNL) on Lagoon Dr. They have two but usually only fly one. General cargo, interisland.

DC-3s

Do a search in EL Paso. There are always operators down there usually with south of the border trips. I even heard of a guy getting a job out there a while back in a dc3.

good luck

Try Hankins Air Service in Jackson, MS. There is also one in Griffin, GA, don't know the name of it.
