There is a rumor floating around our office about possibly going to the 500 next week. I have not seen any slot reservations pop up yet, but I know that I have seen them in the past.

Any advice on how to smoothly go in and out of the area would be much appreciated...as well as places to stay on short notice. If I remember correctly isn't bike week also this time of year? Any advice would be much appreciated...

No STMP @ DAB this year. Lynch has the most affordable fuel and services. I would recommend staying away from the other two FBO's from past experience. As for hotels, you are probably going to have to drive 30 minutes or more if you want availability or reasonable prices. If you are staying for any length of time, you may want to try Spruce Creek villas about 20 minutes away.

I'm assuming that with no STMP for DAB this year that things are going to get a little crazy. Is there a better alternative that you could suggest. I'm just trying to avoid the mess that occured in Miami after the superbowl.

It should not be the same as the Super Bowl because many departures Sunday, slow period, and, no great amount of commercial airline traffic at Daytona. Even Monday should be fine --get in line
