As I was flying around Mexico yesterday, I heard an aircraft check in at FL400 with the call sign Day Jet. If I am not mistaken, I thought I remember hearing that the Eclipse 500 was going to be starting deliveries this month. Anybody know if who I heard could have been an Eclipse or just a coinidence?

Thnx,
Prop

Don't think they've delivered the first one to those guys yet but I could be wrong. As far as I heard, that isn't going to be their callsign anyway---I think it's going to be something like "Day Cab" or something. I could be wrong but I think I remember that from one of the innumerable magazine articles...

What are you doing in Mexico, dude? You barely speak English let alone Spanglish?!

You need to come down to MB so I can teach you what a hover feels like!!!!

Eclipse 500? VLJ? I didn't think they were capable of FL400.

According to the specs page on their website, max altitude is FL410.

Service ceiling for the Eclipse VLJ is FL410..And the first customer delivery is scheduled for the end of the month, of course providing the FAA issues them their certificate(the delivery is to a private pilot, not Day Jat).

Eclipse will go to 410 I believe, but ofcourse, the plane is not yet certified so Dayjet would not yet have any aircraft operating.

Yeah, and the CE-650 was certified to FL510, good luck getting it there.
