Saw a dash in CAL colors in MDT and was wondering who it was. I know Colgan is supposed to get the Q 400 for them, but this wasn't a Q 400.

So it's no different than the 1900 then.

The 1900 at least gets cool once the right engine gets going and the freon starts flowing. These Dash's don't cool off much at all, even with both engines going.

It's kinda like a CRJ-200 with an inop APU, though not QUITE as hot. :0

I spit up my coffee every time I see your avatar and name.

At least in the CRj u can get that cool air from that big yellow hose from the jetbridge to cool down somewhat while waiting for the pax. The 1900 one sweets bullets till the pax come out.

Was it a glider? If so then it defiantly was a CommutAir Dash.

No APU huh, no surprise there. And the CP calls me a "glorified baggage handler". Funny.

Not needed.

Ya I guess that is what the owners said when it came time to start paying out the ESOP.
Anyways, I guess we can keep that skeleton in the closet for a price. Maybe a payout to the ESOP. That could buy my silence.

I'm surprised it didn't get out.

Commutair received the Dash's from Horizon. Horizon would be the carrier who ordered them without APUs.

Okay thanks. We were all on the edge of our seats wondering why the passengers on CommodeAir were sweating their butts off.
If CommutAir wanted to have an APU they could have APU's, just sign the check. But as all that have (and still) work there will tell you is that they are a cheap bunch. If they could get away without oxygen masks they would.
Personally, I am truly amazed that they even ordered a plane that required a third crew member. I am also amazed that TM and crew can manage the increase in crew members.

BTW is starting pay for a Captain in the 1900 still $30 an hour?????

I do miss the naked turtle.:0
