I havent flown a single for a while and starting to get the itch to.

Just wondering what places in the dfw area have some good rental rates. I checked up in Denton and they had some nice '02 Warriors for about 100 an hour. That is too much.

I just wanna putt around and don't need IFR anything. Any airports in the area with some good rates?

Thanks

Wankel

Skymates in Arlington has some 152s and "classic" 172s for reasonable rates.

Monarch in RBD, ADS, and TKI have some older 172s and a 152 for competitive prices.

Edited: no more 152s at Skymates I guess.

I trained at Mesquite Aviation at HQZ. The rental rates were really low - I paid $50p/h for a 150 after buying a 10-hour block. I think the block rate for a 172 was $70. They use auto gas in their 150s which is why they could keep it pretty low. The instructors were hit or miss. Most were a-holes, but I had a really good one (Brandon). Unfortunately, I don't think he's instructing anymore. The airport is great for training. Relatively low traffic and you can cruise around E. Texas without fear of running into anyone. Also close to the Class B and several towered fields.

Their site is www.mesquiteaviation.net but it seems to be down right now.
