WSB radio in ATL is reporting that DAL has agreed to recall furloughed pilots (not all at once, but on a schedule).
If this is true, I have a few questions:
1. What will the General have to post about without any furloghed pilots out there.
2. Where will DAL put these 1060 pilots? They don't have enough work for the the pilots they already recalled.
3. Could this be the Ch11 bankruptcy triger. The estimated cost of paying these pilots to do nothing for one year is $117 million. DAL won't stay in business for very much longer doing that.
4. Will concessions be coming real soon from the DAL MEC?
5. What does this mean for us at ASA and Comair? I gues DAL could place 500 mainline furloughs at each of our airlines, and then furlough 1000 ASA and Comair pilots.
Congrads to the furloughed DAL pilots BTW, I hope this works out for all of us in the DAL family.
