Im planning on jumpseating from LAX to JFK to MUC in the next few days on Delta. Problem I see is that there is less than 1 hour connection time in JFK. Is this a problem when jumpseating or can I have the LAX gate agents make a jumpseat request for the JFK-MUC flight?

Any tips please will be greatly appreciated?
Thanks.

My experience with intl j/s'ing with Delta has only been coming from Europe (Dub, TXL, LGW). Each time I had to check in 75mins before scheduled departure time in order to pay taxes and accomplish necessary paperwork. I was denied in Dublin once for being inside that time period.

Also if you are j/s'ing back do not go to the check in line at the relevant airport - go to the ticket counter - thats the only place where you can pay by c.c. the taxes. Hope this helps.

1. Pay your international R/T taxes at the ticket counter in LAX. Obtain Gate Pass from them to get you past security.

2. Go to gate for your JFK flight. Fill out jumpseat form there. Ask gate agent to list you all the way through to your final international destination. Have your passport ready. This now puts you in the TSA system. 75 minute rule is no longer pertinent for you because you are already in the system.

3. At JFK, go to departure gate for your international flight and fill out a new jumpseat form.

4. OAL pilots are not allowed to sit in the cockpit of an international flight...CASS or no CASS. Another dumb TSA rule that needs to be changed.
