Lookin for any advice on this....

I'm working on a MEL to submit to the FAA on a F10 we just published but I've run into a potential stumbling block. Most modern a/c have an MEL operational/procedures manual published by the manufacturer to be submitted with the MEL but the Falcon 10 does not. For anyone who has developed this before for a Falcon 10, what is your suggestion? Did you just hammer out a MEL procedures manual, MEL management program, and MEL Training manual yourself, submit and cross your fingers or did you contract with an outside company to develop it for you and at what cost?

I have already downloaded the MMEL off the web and made it A/C specific, but I'm not sure whether or not we are going to contract out this or just grind it out ourselves.

Thanks in advance.

MEL

Is this for 135 or 91? It makes a difference. Basicly under 91 all you really need is a copy of the MMEL and the approval letter from the FSDO. Under 135 you will need to do a full MEL. The training portion is very simple, just a short discussion in the training program. How to write a maintenance item up, how to defer it, pulling and collaring of CBs, etc. A separate training manual is not required.

A MEL management system is not required, other than something in the Operations Manual covering who is responsible for the revision of all MELs.

If an air carrier the MEL may be a fleet MEL. It is not required to aircraft serial number specific and the aircraft do not need to be equipt exactly the same. If the differences are not readily apparent, then the different aircraft must be noted.

Personally, I prefer to write my own MELs. I have found the prepared MELs hard to deal with at times.

PM me if you have any questions.

Rick,

Thanks for the response. It is Part 91. I was given some bogus info. Thought I had to have the same docs as for 135 or 121 ops.

In that case, I'm almost done.

Thanks again.
