What are you paying in preminum for your Int'l Air Carrier Bond? (7 pax Part 135 US and Caribbean) I've heard 10% is standard. Do bond brokers usually have a minimum preminum? Ours is for $50,000 and a preminum of $1000/yr. Any recommendations for a broker?

This was the renewal. Our aviation ins. co. did not do bonds. Our main co. insurance co. is handling it and went through a separate bond broker. Last year they had all screwed up and it took forever to get it in place and filed with Customs. Just wanted to know if there were better people to use this year. But we just renewed it. I was hoping to get it reduced from a discussion I had with our local Customs officer, but she changed her tune and said that the amount required on the bond is going to go up again next year. Our Ins. co. said the premimum is priced at 2%/$1000 on the bond. At least we saved some money this year by switching aircraft ins. and are getting better service through a new broker.
