Can someone plz explain the merit based upgrade at Citation Shares? Thanks.

Don't call in sick too often even if you really are sick. You won't be a "team player" and you might not get upgraded... Beware of ample subjectivity...

Can someone plz explain the merit based upgrade at Citation Shares? Thanks.

I would try but I have not quite figured it out myself. Seems to be going mostly senority these days anyway. Merit is a very gray issue, they take your pilot evaluation scores and prior experience and put it all in one big grid. The problem is everyone is not being evaluated by the same person, and every trip paired with a standards captain does not fit the same mold. But CS figures this is how 90% of the other occupations outside of flying handles promotions, and I guess they have a point. (Not one that I agree with, but maybe I'm just old school)

The upgrades have followed date of hire fairly close as long as I have been here. (5+ years) What I like about the merit system, coming from a corporate background, is an individual is not upgraded until they have proven capable to do the job and not simply based upon the fact their number came up. We have had a few late on upgrading because they were not ready for the left seat (so I have heard). Fractional flying is a tough business and you need the right people in Captain positions.

To answer M-crit's question, the merit score is a combination of standard captain evaluation scores, annual evaluation from your ACP, ACP recommendation. Overtime plays a small role as does date of hire. Hope this helps.

Where do I get a pair of those upgrade is taking longer than I'd like.
