How long does it take to retrain from the CRJ200 to the CRJ700? What are the main systems that are different and require different training?

It's differences, not retraining

It's only retraining if you go from the -200 to the -700, and then back to the -200; then it's called "un-differences" training.:D :D

Seriously, about a week of boredom. Less buttons to push (i.e. the LCVs are automatic), less things to do (the FADECs control the Max, TOGA, FLEX, and Climb settings thru detents and FMS settings), different weights and speeds (a little), etc. etc. etc.

Just lots of boring, important stuff.

LTG:D

It's 4 days of ground at ASA, followed by 3 sim training sessions, and a 4th sim for a difference check ride.

The biggest differences system wise are the engines, new engine with FADEC, and the pnuematic system - which is completely different. Also, a few different memory items and LOTS of new limitations.
