To all of you Comair, ASA, SKY West, PSA, and MESA guys/gals...I realize that the pay is different in some cases but is there a different type rating for the larger versions of the crj?

I have experience in the dash8 and erj series vs pay at different companies but not crj, any info would clear some things up for me.

Just went through -700 differences myself. It consisted of 2 days ground, 3 days sim with a PT at the end, no check ride. The aircraft are vastly different under the skin, but from the pilots' end of things there are only minor operational differences.

They are only the same type [i.e. differences training] if you go from a -200 initial ride UP. If your initial type was in a -700/900, you are required to take another checkride in order to fly the -200. Having flown both, I understand why. The -700 is a stable nose high slower airspeed approach. The -200 is the high speed lawn dart approach.

I thought the cr200 and 440 was the exact same airplane except the 440 had 6 seats removed and replaced with a closet (to get around NWA scope requirements) No differences training at all
