Does having CRJ type rating also qualify a person to be a PIC on a Challenger? Or are they two different type ratings?

Different types. However, insurance companies will usually count CRJ recurrent towards their own recurrent requirements with enough experience.

Supposedly the airlines pushed for a seperate type so that they would not lose pilots to 135 and 91 ops.

CL-600, or CL-601, or CL-604(which will also be the type for the 605, differences training required), or CL-300

All are separate type ratings............

You have had the honor of putting your certificates up to the fire and flown with John Hill, ehh?

Skies are blue......wing up!

Could never understand a damn word of his so he used hand signals. And then his ass in your face while he was shooting. I did hear him yell at Charley a couple times though.
