Credit Checks

Are they part of the background check? If so, can bad credit be grounds for a job offer to be withdrawn? (In my particular case there was no mention of credit history anywhere on the application, but I'm seeing it mentioned more and more)

Depends on the company.. You would have to sign something authorizing your credit to be checked.

If you did not sign such a document, that company doesn't perform credit checks.
