I recently applied to a flight school. I was required to go to an interview and then take a psych test. This test was comprised of 187 questions. Weird questions. Like "If the pay were the same, would you rather be a pilot or a lawer?" I'm pretty sure that this test was not to test a person's santiy, because there were no questions like "If your father were a girl and not related to you would you persue a romantic relationship with him(/her?)?"

They were personality questions, like "Have you ever been treated unfairly?"

Anyway, has anyone had to take one of these tests? And what do employers/educators use them for?

Sure. All the airlines use them. They use them to weed out people who think the questions are "weird", and are always going around asking "WTF?". ;)

They do this for the simple reason of being able to get a general idea for what type of personality that you have and whether or not you fit the mold of what they are looking for. Many companies give this test to applicants, not just an aviation thing. You will be taking many more of these types of tests in the future..........
