Is it just me, or do any of you find it odd that there are so few good flying jobs in Sacramento?
- capital of the 7th largest economy in the world (or so they claim)
- 3 airports with control towers. One has an almost-12,000' runway.
- a 4th airport (non-towered) with an 11,000' runway.
- close to the Bay Area, but outside the heavy traffic and hassle.

What gives?

I think it's cause we are sooo close to the bay area. It's too bad...

Also it is the state capital. It does not matter what state you are in but take a look a the metro areas of major state capitals. Filled with weirdos (state hospitals) and politicians (people that have not figured out how to work for a living yet have massive egos). Ronald Reagan (well actually Nancy) refused to live in Sacramento. For good reason.

Also, all the FBO's suck there. Why would anyone want to base an airplane where they treat like a log of deformitory timber sitting at the bottom of the ocean.

aww man, come on, yer dissin' my peeps. Sacto is a GREAT place to live- the BEST weather ANYWHERE in the world (u can quote me on that).

I totally agree with you about the "FBO"'s here though, especially the one that is "closest to downtown"...

PS... GO KINGS!

Ah yes ... never left home have you ... ;)

I will give Sacramento cudos on the proximity to some GREAT skiing and outdoor activities.

Props..yep Sac is great, but Sac Jet does SUCK! I have never sen soo many people standing around doing nothing while pilots parked in the west 40 have to walk in ..what happened to service?

Umm, actually, I currently live in Utah- FAR FAR away from the paradise that is Sacramento.

AMEN brother- i was hoping that the "ownership change" a few years back would help some, but alas, it hasn't. At least they got the leaky roof on the hangar fixed.

I agree that the FBO's lack what others have in the Sac area, But what I really was asking if there are any Corparate jobs.
